    Lab Orders

    • How do I receive my Cologuard order?

This facility will contact you directly to schedule delivery of your Cologuard test kit. Please be sure to follow the lab’s instructions for completion of the tests.

My provider ordered a Cologuard test, how long does it take for the healthcare provider to receive results?

Once the lab receives the Collection Kit, it usually takes about two weeks for the laboratory to test the sample and report the results back to the provider.

    • How much will my labs cost?

External services such as lab work are not included in the cost of Oshi’s services because we do not perform the testing. To determine the exact costs of your specific labs ordered by your provider, please contact the lab and/or your insurance company directly.

Does the lab accept my insurance?

We are unable to determine if your insurance is in-network with your chosen laboratory. Your insurance company will be able to provide the best guidance on preferred labs.

    • Should I come to my lab appointment fasting?

Not all lab appointments will require fasting. Your provider will notify you if you need to fast for your blood test. If you have any other questions, please call us or send a message through the Oshi app.

The following is a list of labs that will always require fasting:

      • Vitamin K levels
      • Liver Fibrosis testing (ELF, Fibosure, FibroMETER, FibroTEST, Fib-4)
      • Lipid panel, cholesterol tests

If the lab has different recommendations for fasting, please follow your provider’s directions or call to clarify instructions.

How long do I have to fast before my lab appointment?

If you have a fasting lab, you’ll need to fast for at least eight (8) hours before the labs are drawn.

Can I eat anything before my fasting labs?

No, unfortunately you cannot eat anything during the fasting period before your labs are drawn.

Can I drink anything before my fasting labs?

Yes, we definitely encourage you to drink at least two glasses (16 ounces or more) of water in the morning before your fasting labs. Being hydrated will help make sure that there are no issues drawing your blood (and it’ll help fend off those hunger pains). You can also have one cup of unflavored black coffee (no sugar, no milk).

    • What do I need to bring for my lab appointment?

Please be sure to bring your photo ID and your current insurance card. We know you already, but the individual labs and laboratory technicians may not.

Do I need to make an appointment to complete labs?

Contacting your chosen laboratory will provide you with the best guidance on appointments. In most cases, you do not need an appointment to complete labs; however, making an appointment may decrease wait times at the lab.

      Where can I complete labs?

      • If Labcorp was selected as your preferred lab, you can complete labs at any Labcorp.
      • If Quest was selected as your preferred lab, you can complete labs at any Quest in your state.
      • If you chose a lab other than Labcorp or Quest, you will need to complete labs at the specific location you requested.
      • If Cologuard was ordered it will be sent to your home from Exact Science Laboratories. Follow instructions within packaging exactly as stated.
      • If your provider ordered labs from Qdx, TrioSmart, or Ambry lab, these will be sent to your home. Following instructions within packaging exactly as stated.

How do I book an appointment for my labs?

      • For Labcorp, you can book your appointment through the app or by using this link: https://www.labcorp.com/labs-and-appointments/results
      • For Quest, you can book your appointment through the app or by using this link: https://appointment.questdiagnostics.com/
      • When booking your appointment, choose an option tailored to your specific orders. You can also choose “all other tests” or “routine blood work.”
      • For all other labs, please call the facility directly to book your appointment.

      Can I switch labs?

If you are switching from Quest to Labcorp or vice versa, the lab orders are interchangeable and can be accepted at any location or facility. To ensure we are able to receive your lab results, please notify us if you switch labs. If you switch to a lab other than Labcorp or Quest, you will need to call us so we can resend lab orders.

    • Do I need to notify Oshi when I complete my labs?

While it is not mandatory, notifying us that you have completed your labs helps expedite retrieval of your results. Please notify us when you have finished your labs by opening your Oshi app and selecting “To Dos.” From there, you can mark your lab work as “Done.”

How will I be notified of my results?

Your provider will notify you of your lab results through the Oshi app or with a phone call.

When will I be notified of my results?
Typically, blood work can take 2-5 business days to result. Stool testing and other more complex bloodwork may take up to 7-10 business days. If you are set up to receive notifications from your lab, you may be notified of your results before your provider. Once we receive your results, please allow 24-48 hours for your provider to review them and contact you.

How can I receive a copy of my results?

If you’d like a physical copy of your lab results, you can contact the lab facility that completed your labs. If done at Quest or Labcorp, your results will be available to you soon after your labs are drawn via your Quest/Labcorp Patient Portal account. Once Oshi notifies you that we have received your results, we can also supply you with a copy if requested via chat or email.

    • When will I receive my mailed lab kit and results?

      QDX

      TrioSmart BreathTest

    • My provider ordered a stool test. How do I collect a stool sample?

You will be able to complete stool tests at home. Your chosen lab will provide you with everything you need to complete the stool test. You will need to go to the lab to pick up the kit and will return the stool sample to the same lab.

The lab technician said they cannot process blood and stool tests in the same order. They are requesting a separate lab order, what do I do?

Your provider will tell you if your blood test needs to be completed urgently.

If the blood test is not urgent, please take the stool kit from the lab home with you and complete the blood draw when you return to the lab with the stool sample.

If your blood test is urgent, complete the blood test and request a separate stool order by calling us at 646-876-8455.

    • How do I view my lab orders?

You are able to view your lab orders right on your Oshi app. Select “To-Dos” -> “View Instructions” ->“View Order.” From there, you are able to print, email, or download a copy of your order.

Do I need to take a copy of my orders with me to the lab?

For Quest or Labcorp orders, you typically do not need a copy of your orders. However, it is best to have it available on your Smartphone or to have a paper copy as a backup in the event of technical difficulties. For labs other than Quest or Labcorp, we recommend bringing a copy of your orders or contacting the lab prior to your visit to clarify any unique requirements.
